The Ohio Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence Prevention Consortium (OSIP-VP) is proud to share this unified concept paper entitled Riding Tandem on the Pathway Way to Prevention, Ohio’s Experience Collaboratively Preventing Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence. Written to document a 6 year journey from coalition building to achieving outcomes, Ohio’s high level of collaboration is unique among domestic and sexual violence coalitions across the country. We hope the ideas expressed herein help others consider the facilitators and challenges; Ultimately to help create similar processes across the country with the vision of a world free from intimate partner and sexual violence.
Ohio was one of just a few states selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to develop a state plan to prevent sexual and intimate partner violence. Over the course of 5 years and with help of local agencies, statewide organizations, and key stakeholders, Pathways in Prevention: A Roadmap for Change Ohio’s Plan for Sexual and Intimate Partner Violence Prevention was created.
