April is both Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and National Child Abuse Prevention Month. It's the perfect time to engage your friends, family, and community in our efforts to increase awareness of sexual assault and abuse, show support for survivors, and demand an end to these devastating crimes. This page contains information about national campaigns, downloadable graphics from OAESV, ways you can donate and get involved, and information about events happening across Ohio.
Do you have an event you're hosting in your community this April? Let us know about it and we'll add it to this page and spread the word on social media! Send your details to OAESV's Communications Director today!
Each year, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center develops campaign materials for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Check out their SAAM webpage for a variety of information and free downloadable graphics and resources for a successful SAAM in your community.
National Child Abuse Prevention Month is an annual effort to raise awareness about all forms of child abuse, including sexual abuse, and mobilizes individuals and communities to prevent it. Check out the website for the U.S. Department of Justice Children's Bureau for information and downloadable resources.
This April, OAESV invites you to turn our state into #TealOHIO and to show solidarity as together #WeAreOAESV:
Purchase a special OAESV T-shirt during SAAM to show that you're committed to ending sexual violence beyond April! Proceeds benefit OAESV!
OAESV's Becky Perkins is ran a marathon on April 9th to support OAESV's NO MORE Campaign and to show support to survivors throughout Ohio. Read Becky's blog post to learn more about why she chose a marathon to raise awareness and support, and help us go the extra mile!
