Attendees will receive fundamental information necessary for providing effective services to sexual violence survivors in a variety of contexts\, with a focus on medical & legal advocacy. \nThe Training Institute is intended to provide introductory skills and knowledge to sexual violence advocates who have been working in the field for two years or less\, or are new to Ohio laws and procedures. Staff members from Ohio sexual violence programs / rape crisis centers\, sexual assault advocates working on college campuses\, or advocates who have not yet completed the required 40 hours of training are welcome. \nThis 40-hour training consists of two 20-hour components. In Part 1 of this training series\, we will learn more about the technology that is available and explore innovative ways of using this technology to meet the needs of survivors and your community. \nWe will also dive deeper in learning how to adapt your protocols to ensure a smooth transition to virtual advocacy. You can look forward to hearing first-hand from a program who has implemented the use of tele-advocacy services using tablets\, and some of the challenges that accompanied this\, along with how they worked through those challenges. \nPart 1 of this training series is open to all who are working in the anti-violence and related fields. Parts 2 and 3 of this series will only be open to members of OAESV.
