People working in the anti-violence field in particular are at higher risk for the effects of secondary traumatic stress such as fatigue\, illness\, reduced productivity\, irritability\, or persistent anger and sadness. Participants will participate in one plenary and four breakout experiences to practice restorative healing and to reset their individual nervous systems. Attendees will receive fundamental information necessary for providing effective services to sexual violence survivors in a variety of contexts\, with a focus on medical & legal advocacy. \nThe Training Institute is intended to provide introductory skills and knowledge to sexual violence advocates who have been working in the field for two years or less\, or are new to Ohio laws and procedures. Staff members from Ohio sexual violence programs / rape crisis centers\, sexual assault advocates working on college campuses\, or advocates who have not yet completed the required 40 hours of training are welcome. \nThis 40-hour training consists of two 20-hour components.
