This training positions social change leaders to shift public narratives by giving them the tools to identify\, craft\, and share their stories\, perspectives\, and analysis in their communities and the media. \nAttendees will: \n\nestablish and embody what makes them proficient in their area of focus and somebody on whom media makers can rely for truthful and valuable information on a particular subject\nlearn how to develop a political message—a persuasive body of information that persuades an audience to do\, feel or say something—using an easy to remember method\nleave with an understanding of how socialization\, stigma\, bias\, typecasting\, tropes\, personal physiology\, and a hypercritical and carceral online landscape impact how we feel about being a public-facing figure\nget practiced at being a spokesperson by practicing in front of their peers and receiving real-time feedback and affirmations\n\nThis training will be led by nationally-recognized communications strategist Shanelle Matthews. \nEach OAESV-recognized RCC is invited to send a maximum of 1 staff member to this training.
