SUMMARY:Excellence in Legal Advocacy: Working with Pro Se Survivors
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]\n\n\nOhio Alliance to End Sexual Violence (OAESV) and Ohio Domestic Violence Network (ODVN) collaborative session on working with survivors representing themselves in the legal system (otherwise known as pro se). While there are some resources across the state\, it is still an unfortunate reality in Ohio that many survivors do not or cannot access no or low-cost attorneys to assist them with their legal needs. This session will focus on best practices helping to empower pro se survivors access the legal systems and resources. This session will also discuss the unauthorized practice of law and finding the line between legal information versus legal advice. A particular emphasis will be on empathetic advocacy and uplifting access for all.
