Ohio’s rape crisis centers provide confidential advocacy and support to survivors and co-survivors of sexual violence. Rape crisis centers are uniquely equipped to help survivors navigate the healthcare and criminal justice systems, and they provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support at any point in a survivor’s recovery process. If you are a survivor, we want you to know that we are here to believe you, to empower you, and to support you in your journey to healing – no matter who you are, no matter how long it’s been. We are here for you.
Services Provided by Rape Crisis Centers
Ohio’s rape crisis centers provide a range of services according to OAESV’s Core Standards for Rape Crisis Programs in Ohio.
These services include:
- 24-Hour Crisis Hotline
- Hospital/Medical Advocacy
- Criminal Justice/Legal Advocacy
- Community Awareness/Outreach
Some (but not all) rape crisis programs in Ohio provide the following additional services:
- Prevention Education
- Professional Counseling/Therapy
- Support Groups
- Remote Services/Tele-Advocacy
