Using Additional Resources from National Organizations
National Sexual Assault Resource Center (NSVRC)
Each year, the NSVRC also releases a toolkit of helpful information for SAAM and hosts a #30DaysOfSAAM Instagram challenge. You can access the NSVRC SAAM toolkit at https://www.nsvrc.org/saam
This year’s theme is “Building Connected Communities” to reduce the likelihood of sexual abuse, assault, and harassment in our communities. Any space where people come together is a community, whether in neighborhoods, workplaces, campuses, organizations, or even online spaces.
The Alianza Latina en contra la Agresión Sexual (ALAS)
According to the ALAS website,
The Alianza Latina en contra la Agresión Sexual (ALAS) is a national network of Latin American victim advocates working to address and prevent sexual violence. Through collaborative efforts and cyberactivism, ALAS promotes the leadership of Latin American victim advocates and develops models, resources and policies to empower communities and eliminate access barriers for survivors. ALAS honors the diversity of our culture by respecting the similarities and differences of our languages, dialects, and histories.
ALAS has created a campaign titled “Yo Soy SAAM (I am SAAM)”, promoted as a collective effort of Latine advisors to promote the inclusion and participation of Latine communities during SAAM. There will be several webinars offered in Spanish. Keep an eye on the list and registration information by going to their webpage: https://nuestrasvocesconf.wixsite.com/alas
