Using Additional Resources from National Organizations
National Sexual Assault Resource Center (NSVRC)
Each year, the NSVRC also releases a toolkit of helpful information for SAAM. The NSVRC website reads,
“The theme of Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2023 is “Drawing Connections: Prevention Demands Equity.” This April’s campaign calls on all individuals, communities, organizations, and institutions to change ourselves and the systems surrounding us to build racial equity and respect.
We are currently in the process of updating our website with SAAM 2023 materials. Note the links below still direct to last year’s materials. Sign-up for our email list to be the first to know when SAAM 2023 materials have arrived.”
The Alianza Latina en contra la Agresión Sexual (ALAS)
According to the ALAS website,
The Alianza Latina en contra la Agresión Sexual (ALAS) is a national network of Latin American victim advocates working to address and prevent sexual violence. Through collaborative efforts and cyberactivism, ALAS promotes the leadership of Latin American victim advocates and develops models, resources and policies to empower communities and eliminate access barriers for survivors. ALAS honors the diversity of our culture by respecting the similarities and differences of our languages, dialects, and histories.
ALAS has created a campaign titled “Yo Soy SAAM (I am SAAM)”, promoted as a collective effort of Latine advisors to promote the inclusion and participation of Latine communities during SAAM. There will be several webinars offered in Spanish. Keep an eye on the list and registration information by going to their webpage: https://nuestrasvocesconf.wixsite.com/alas
