2025 Annual Conference
In 2025, our Annual Conference is an integral part of our Voices of Change campaign—a yearlong initiative to uplift survivors, strengthen collaboration, and drive meaningful action. Voices of Change is not just a theme or colorful logo; it’s a rallying cry to come together, empower one another, and actively support survivors of sexual violence. This theme emphasizes the strength and unity found in collaboration and collective action. It calls on us to speak up and take actionable steps in our communities to create safer, more supportive spaces for survivors and to end sexual violence at its roots. At its heart, “Voices of Change” centers the needs and stories of survivors and the people who work on the front lines, recognizing that their voices hold the wisdom and guidance necessary for meaningful change.
2024 Annual Conference
In a world where violence prevention and survivor-centered responses are persistently challenged, it has become crucial to bring people together. This conference acts as a catalyst for creating a sense of community and sharing our knowledge, strategies, and resources. It provides a dedicated space where we can dream, share, and gather to tackle the pressing issues of violence prevention, survivor support, and systems change. It is a call to action, uniting voices from all corners of society to collaborate and ignite a collective force, to build healthier, safer, and more resilient communities for all.
2023 Annual Conference
Forging New Pathways. This year, we’ve seen an increase in services for survivors and shifts in what survivors need. We’ve seen the continued need for prevention in our communities as violence against our loved ones has persisted. This increased awareness of our work, intersecting with an increased knowledge of public health, has fostered exciting innovation, but has also exposed new barriers. It feels like we’re at a crossroads – can we overcome the barriers and find a new path? Join OAESV as we explore these new pathways and how to make them possible.
2022 Annual Conference
In 2021 and 2020, the conference theme Restoring Our Roots has focused on a return to the past to inform our future, to root ourselves in accountability, inclusion, and equity.
In 2022, we propelled forward into the infinite possibilities that come with the ongoing intentional care given to our roots. The 2022 theme, Growing Our Collective Future, allowed us to cultivate radical imaginations to shape the world around us. While roots ground us, support us, nourish us, the stars allow us to imagine our interconnectedness to everyone– and everything.
2021 Annual Conference
Restoring Our Roots: Cultivating Community. Fostering Innovation. Nourishing Relationships. Restoring our roots takes time. Any arborist would agree. Last year was a testament to the gradual, continual process of restoration. We did some digging, tested the soil, planted some seeds, and did some necessary pruning. We need these trees to be free of the weeds that have hindered their growth for years. To be restored in the roots of accountability, restorative and transformative justice, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in order for it to bloom!
Last year, we all had to quickly change course to respond to a global crisis unseen in 100 years. Our colleague, Olivia Montgomery, and her partner in leadership, Timiza Wash, strategized together ways to stay connected during this time of a virtual world. From there blossomed our Cultivating Conversations in Crisis series, which still continues today. This year, we are dedicating ourselves to continuing that cultivation beyond the pandemic and into our work.

2020 Annual Conference: Part 2
Part Two of our annual conference was held August 10th-13th, 2020, and was filled with workshops and the Central Ohio Regional SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) Training! We were so excited for this follow-up to the June portion of our conference, and we’re thankful to be able to offer our conference in a virtual format. We know that the sexual assault prevention practitioner and advocate community looks forward to, and truly relies on, this cornerstone event every year. We wanted to provide this learning experience and also ensure your health and well-being by complying with CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines.
