Putting Conversation into Practice: Invisible Injuries
July 21 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Invisible Injuries: Violence, Brain Injuries, Health Disparities and Health Justice
Join peers within anti-violence fields across Ohio in the Putting Conversation Into Practice series as we work together to learn about and practice anti-racism. While we recognize white communities have the most work to do, all participants are welcome and facilitators will center BIPOC voices present.
Invisible Injuries: Violence, Brain Injuries, Health Disparities and Health Justice This session will discuss structural barriers to health care and highlight how Ohio’s work to better understand brain injury caused by interpersonal violence led us to what we believe is a leading contributor to health disparities–brain injury. As a group we will discuss the ways in which racism and sexism intersect in the healthcare system, specifically for survivors who experience brain injury.
