Share Away! Social Media Templates & Graphics for Your Platforms
This year’s SAAM theme is “Embrace Your Voice: Build Community.” This is such a crucial topic because we want to encourage more collaboration and less of working in silos. Please consider checking out the resources, content, and ideas our team has provided, and sharing them on your social media platforms.
- Ready-to-use graphics in English & Spanish
- Customizable graphics templates, so you can add your own logos and taglines
- Suggested captions in English & Spanish
This can help your followers understand what’s going on in Ohio and how we can join together as a state against sexual violence. You’ll see an example of the posts below, and all you have to do is log in to Coalition Manager to download the materials you need, located under Resource Manager. If you need help accessing Coalition Manager just reach out at info@oaesv.org.
Here you can see our suggested content calendar for the month of April – don’t forget to add in your own special events. All you have to do is:
- Download the ready-to-go material here
- Use Canva to personalize any templates you want to use (see links above), and
- Schedule the posts to your social media using the free scheduling tools on Facebook and Twitter or by using a free program like Hootsuite.
If you want help with these, our Resource & Communications Team is available for Technical Assistance, and they’re more than happy to walk you through it or answer any questions! They’ve also created a tip sheet that you can access here.
We’ve got everything ready to go with some posts covering the following topics and more:
- Posts with resources to engage men who are survivors
- How to support a survivor that discloses
- Supportive affirmations for advocates
We’ve also included templates so that you can personalize the graphics to fit your specific programming before posting it! You’ll find templates that highlight these and more:
- How your program plans to #BuildCommunity
- Highlighting services offered at your program
- (Re)Introducing Your Staff
- Denim Day & Teal Day

Engage!
We hope you have multiple opportunities to engage with survivors, other advocates, co-survivors, community members, and partners during SAAM. Social media can be extremely helpful and a powerful way to facilitate discussions and to share information. Consider these ideas for additional content:
- Write and post blogs (and invite volunteers to do the same!) that show your staff’s expertise. Click here for a tip sheet on blog writing.
- Suggest ways for community members in your service area to act against sexual violence
- Post videos of you and your staff explaining what it means to you to #EmbraceYourVoice
- Remind your followers about your organization’s mission
- Use our hashtags to see how many people we can connect across Ohio – #EmbraceYourVoice and #TheTimeIsNow – and create your own that are specific to your program!
And most important of all, prepare. You are very likely to see an increase in calls, questions, and engagements overall during SAAM. And this is what we want, right?! But be sure you’re prepared for that influx and brush up on advocacy best practices as well as self-care for your direct service providers.
Accessibility of SAAM Virtual Events
Even if no accessibility requests come in for virtual events – plan for your events to be as accessible as possible, especially if you know they will be recorded and shared afterward.
Keeping access in mind for:
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities
- Communities where English is not their first language
- Blind and Low vision communities
- People with Disabilities,
- and more

Tuesday, 4/27/21 – ADVOCACY DAY – A VIRTUAL EVENT
-
-
- Share a picture of your staff taking part in Advocacy Day! This can be at your desk or computer, a collage of individual photos, etc. Just because we aren’t together in a physical space doesn’t mean we aren’t together in spirit. You can also tweet throughout the day to keep your followers up-to-date on the most impactful parts of your experience. Include #EmbraceYourVoice, #TheTimeIsNow, and maybe an original hashtag created by your organization!

Denim Day, 4/27/22 (same day as Advocacy Day)
- Join the national moment! For over 21 years, supporters have engaged in wearing jeans as a form of protest against an all-too-common issue of victim blaming. According to org, this came after “a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped the person who raped her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent.” You can use this as an opportunity to have expanded discussions about the various ways survivors face victim blaming, and provide your communities with proper responses to disclosures of sexual assault. Again, use your creativity in incorporating your denim while social distancing.

This gives people all over Ohio a chance to find a space where they can provide support and participate in this powerful month of raising awareness and encouraging the prevention of sexual violence.
Zoom & Teams Backgrounds
Pretty self-explanatory – linked here you’ll find #EmbraceYourVoice Zoom & Teams virtual backgrounds, so that you can remind folks about SAAM during your virtual events, or even while you’re in meetings. These are set up as templates so that you can add your logo (that’s what the empty photo frames are for) and make other small adjustments as needed for you and your staff.
