Advocacy & Legal Services

Overview

OAESV Advocacy & Legal Services offer a variety of resources, services, training, technical assistance, representation, and direct advocacy across the state of Ohio. Legal Services not only include our OAESV Legal Clinic (formerly known as Ohio Survivor Legal Assistance Clinic) and also our Legal Access Works (LAW) Legal Assistance Program connecting survivors with local panel attorneys. Advocacy includes resources, support, and occasionally direct advocacy in counties without a rape crisis program.

Trainings & Technical Assistance

We are committed to training, educating, and assisting attorneys, advocates, other professionals, and more throughout Ohio. Whether in person, virtual, phone, or written, we strive to provide the most accurate and up to date information to attorneys working with survivors of sexual assault. Collaborating across Ohio on resources, services, and information is vitally important to ensure survivors, advocates, and attorneys are prepared for a variety of legal issues. Training and technical assistance can be conducted in groups or individually on a variety of topics including but not limited to:

  • Civil Protection Orders
  • Criminal Legal System
  • Housing
  • Title IX
  • Supporting survivors
